Queen of the Universe 2016 News

Queen of the Universe is a gorgeous, strong, inspiring woman that will be committed to using her position and influence to better the lives of others.

She will promote awareness to helping the less privileged, contribute her full support in helping our diverse charities, be an advocate for the needy, and most of all be a great ambassador of humanity and a role model for young women around the world.

The Queen of the Universe Pageant is a non-political, non-partisan platform for young women to achieve personal growth and development. To create dynamic communication skills, learn time management and balance; establish a way of thinking that enables them to create the life they want to live.

A great opportunity to become ambassadors of their countries, showcasing their beauty, talent and culture. Most importantly, the joy of serving, discovering their inner beauty and achieving their humanitarian goals in life and making our world a better place for our next generations.

Thanks to the Queen of the Universe family and everyone involved we were able to open our first Kindergarten in Senegal Africa.

Our Queen, Gloria Sophia, talks to children about the importance of having an education. She visited the school that she attended when little. “Our future is looking good. These kids are so bright, full of life, and excited for junior high. It was an honor to spend time with them", says Gloria Sophia.

Our queen talked about how going through high school and getting a college degree impacts your life in a positive way. She shared her excitement with the children and express that everything is possible to achieve as long as they continue their education.

It took a little over 2 hours, but Gloria Sophia made sure that every kid left there with a signed photo, a hug and all their questions answered. "I always dreamed of a life like this, "I love my job,” says Gloria Sophia.

Gloria Sophia Queen of the Universe 2015

Puerto Rican beauty Gloria Sophia is crowned “Queen of the Universe” in Joyce Giraud’s annual international charity pageant benefiting UNESCO’s YOU Foundation for Children in Need. Gloria attended performing arts school as an acting major from elementary through college. Her lifelong passion forperforming reaches back to the tender age of 2, when her mother observed her pounding the TV set exclaiming, “Medo that, me do that!”

Gloria made pageant history as the first Latina, and woman from The Bronx, to win both Miss New York Teen USA (2001) and Miss New York USA (2007), placing as first runner-up at the nationally televised Miss Teen USA pageant. She also became part of the reality TV show “Por la Corona” which documented the process of participating in the Miss Puerto Rico Universe pageant. She cites as her influences, first of all, her mother, who raised her alone and “sacrificed everything so that I could have what she didn’t,” and Puerto Rican actress Rita Moreno, the only performer to win every major entertainment award.

In addition to acting and participating in high-glamour fashion shows, throughout her life Gloria has been involved with many different charities including the “For a Day” Foundation, where she has visited children who have been hospitalized; the “Read to Me” program, the Susan G. Komen Foundation, the ASPCA, and each year she participates in the AIDS walk. She currently co-owns a pet supply store and veterinary clinic with her mother which is named after their two dogs, “Dandy & Mia’s Pet World.”

The judges for the Queen of the Universe event were: Bob de Castro of FOX 11News; James Kennedy from Vanderpump Rules; Plastic Surgeon Garo Casabian; Lizzie Rovsek, star of the “Real Housewives of Orange County”; Celebrity designer Andre Soriano; Matthew Arnold, director and producer of NBC’s Siberia and the upcoming “Emerald City”; Renowned actor Alex Pettyfer; Victoria’s Secret supermodel Marloes Horst; Lisa Vanderpump, entrepreneur and star of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills; and award-winner film and television producer, Michael Ohoven.
